Recipe of the Day: Boiled Green Bananas

Some of you might look at this recipe and say, Boiled Green Banana? What is that? While others might look and say, Boiled Green Banana? That is so easy, who needs a recipe for that? But just for the fun of it we decided to give you something that is out of the norm. Packed with iron, potassium and other nutrients, the Banana is the perfect food, but sometimes you might see Green Bananas on your supermarket shelves and wonder if you could ever use it. Well you can. Check out the 1-2-3 recipe below.

Difficulty: Easy

Preparation time: 10m
Cooking time: 20m


For 2 people

  • 1 quart(s) water
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 6 whole Green Bananas

Boiled Green Banana Directions

In a sauce pot add 1 quart of water and add salt.  Allow water to come to a boil.

Add the bananas to the boiling water, cover the pot and allow them to cook until fork tender.
