Preparation time: 10m
For 6 people
- 3 1/2 cup(s) Water
- 2 tablespoon(s) Vegetable Oil
- 1 teaspoon(s) Salt
- 28 ounce(s) White Rice
Put water to boil, add Vegetable Oil and salt.
Wash White Rice and add to the boiling liquid. Bring to a boil, reduce the flame and steam for 30 minutes or until Rice grains are tender. Flake with a fork.
Serve with one of the following:
- Jamaican Curried Chicken
- Jamaican Brown Stew Chicken
- Jamaican Curried Goat
- Jamaican Oxtail
- Jamaican Curried Tofu with Potatoes
along with a Tossed Vegetable Salad.
Quick Tip: White Rice is mostly Carbohydrates, so it is always good to pair it with a rich nutrient source such as Meat, Fish or Beans to add variety and eat a balanced diet.
